Nomi Thai Asian Dining, Hexham

Set on Priestpopple in the heart of town, Nomi serves Thai and pan-Asian dishes for lunch and dinner, with a menu that pulls in influences from Thailand, Vietnam, Korea and Japan. It's relaxed, family-style dining with table service and a full bar, wine and beer included, and it takes reservations, which makes it a good pick for anything from a quick lunch to a big group dinner. There's a dedicated kids menu too, and takeaway if you'd rather eat at home.
What's on the menu
Starters are a good place to graze. Light, crisp options include Vegetable Tempura, Mixed Mushroom Tempura with creamy wasabi mayo, and Sweetcorn Cakes, while the steamed Shumai (pork and prawn) and Ha Kow Prawn dumplings come with a light soy dip. For something with more kick, try the Korean Fried Chicken, the salt-and-pepper Chilli Squid, or the zesty Prawn, Mango & Green Apple Salad.
Thai classics are well covered, with Chicken Satay served with peanut sauce and Thai ajad relish, Thai Fish Cakes, Tom Kha (creamy coconut, galangal and lemongrass) and Tom Yum (hot and sour, with lemongrass and lime leaves). The Cha Gio Vietnamese Rolls and Crispy Duck Spring Rolls with hoisin are worth a look, and if you can't decide, the Mix Platter for 2 brings together mango salad, spring rolls, Korean fried chicken, grilled pork skewer and prawn tempura.
The full menu also covers curries, wok-fried dishes, signatures, noodles and rice, sets and sides, across lunch, dine-in, takeaway and kids menus. Please tell your server about any allergies before ordering.
